FCK advance in Cup

FC Copenhagen put four past Hvidovre to book their place in the Danish Cup fourth round. César Santin and Youssef Toutouh scored early goals to hand FCK a comfortable cushion before Ole Dali halved the Lions’ lead before half time.

Two goals within 10 minutes from Igor Vetokele and Marvin Pourie pushed the game out of reach and, while Kristian Bo Andersen bagged a late consolation, FCK saw the game out in relative comfort.

Ståle couldn’t have wished for a greater start as César Santin opened the scoring after just 34 seconds. The striker latched on to Claudemir’s direct ball almost from kick off and bore down on goal before slotting past Andreas Larsen for 1-0.

Toutouh doubles FCK’s lead

The Lions’ tails were up and Copenhagen took control of the game, passing confidently between the channels in search of a quick second. Rurik Gislason saw two efforts go amiss before Youssef Toutouh made it 2-0 in emphatic fashion. The winger rocketed a Santin layoff into the top-right corner of the Hvidovre net from distance, his third goal for the club.

The tempo eased following Toutouh’s strike as Hvidovre consolidated their midfield and prevented FCK’s forward movement. Indeed, Jonathan Nielsen was a yard off pulling one back from the home side on 25 minutes while Jonas Hebo fired wide of Jakob Busk’s left-hand post six minutes later.

Hvidovre’s intention paid off five minutes before half time, however, when Ole Dali waltzed through the left side of FCK’s defence, beat off three challenges and nestled his shot past across Busk into the bottom corner for 2-1.

Vetokele and Pourie on target

Ståle switched Santin for Marvin Pourie at half time but it was Gislason to threaten first after the break, firing low and wide from 20 yards out three minutes in. The Lions fans wouldn’t need long before they were celebrating a third goal, however, as neat build-up play released Christoffer Remmer down the right wing, who centred for Igor Vetokele to head home.

It was soon 4-1 when Pourie got his first goal for the club, latching on a loose ball in the Hvidovre defence to run in one-and-one and chip over the keeper and into the net. Vetokele made way shortly after the goal for youngster Mikkel Wohlgemuth.

Both Danny Amankwaa and Toutouh tested Larsen in the 74th minute as FCK searched for a fifth but it was Kristian Bo Andersen who celebrated a goal at the other end, striking a superb effort into Busk’s top-left station for 4-2.

That would be the last action of an eventful game as FCK prepare for the trip to Brøndby this weekend.
