FC Copenhagen sell Claudemir

FC Copenhagen have today agreed to sell Brazilian midfielder Claudemir to Belgian side Club Bruges.

The agreement requires a medical, which is expected to be completed within the next few days.

Claudemir arrived in Copenhagen from Dutch side Vitesse in the summer of 2010 and quickly became a regular in the starting XI.

Few fans will forget his famous volley against Barcelona in the 2010/11 UEFA Champions League that earned FCK a valuable point to progress from the group stage.

He scored 14 goals in 183 appearances for the Lions.

Manager Ståle Solbakken originally signed Claudemir and praised the Brazilian for his service, saying:

- In his four-and-a-half seasons at FCK, Claudemir has contributed immensely to the Copenhagen community. He has always given 100 percent for the club, which has led to championship titles, cup medals and big matches in the UEFA Champions League.

- We are all grateful. We are also pleased that we can send him on to a prestigious club such as Bruges, while we get money for a player who plays in a position where we are well covered.

- We wish Claudemir every success and happiness in the future.
