FC Copenhagen are champions of Denmark
FC Copenhagen are champions of Denmark once again after beating FC Nordsjælland 2-0 in Telia Parken to wrap up the championship with three games to spare.
Two second-half goals from Federico Santander secured the Lions their first title since 2013.
The result comes just 10 days after FCK lifted the DBU Cup for a seventh time.
It is also manager Ståle Solbakken’s sixth championship as a coach.
Santander opened the scoring on 63 minutes when he turned on a Benjamin Verbic pass to fire low past FCN goalkeeper David Jensen from the edge of the box.
And four minutes later Santander bagged his 11th league goal of the campaign - this time tapping Verbic’s low centre in from close range.
Thomas Delaney and Erik Johansson could both have scored before Santander, who came close to his hat-trick but squeezed a late effort narrowly wide.
The result gives FCK an insurmountable 10-point gap over second-place SønderjyskE.
Winning the league also secures the Lions progression to the second round of Champions League qualifying.
