FC Copenhagen and Brøndby away tickets reduced

FC Copenhagen and Brøndby will have reduced away sections at the two derbies this spring.

FCK and Brøndby will play in the Championship round of the Superliga.

The Lions head to Brøndby Stadium on April 14, while we welcome Brøndby to Telia Parken on May 5.

New away capacities
Almost two years ago FCK and BIF reached a new ticketing agreement for away fans in the derby.

The agreement awarded FCK with 2,100 away tickets for games at Brøndby Stadium, and BIF were handed 2,500 tickets for games at Telia Parken.

Fan representatives from both clubs reached this agreement.

Last year, engineering group Ramboll performed annual control measurement on the concrete elements at Brøndby Stadium.

They identified on the lower tier of the Brøndby Stadium's south end a possible risk if the concrete was heavily strained by oscillations - e.g. from many fans jumping at the same time - and therefore parts of the concrete must be replaced.

The capacity of Brøndby Stadium's south stand has therefore been reduced by 52 per cent since the winter, as seats have been set up throughout the south stand to reduce the fluctuations.

The capacity on the south stand will be reduced until the concrete has been replaced, which is expected to commence in the second half of 2019.

Ramboll has now concluded that the same challenges unfortunately also apply to the north stand at Brøndby Stadium, which means that the it must also be renovated before its full capacity can be utilised again.

This means that the capacity of the standing section is reduced by 29 per cent for safety reasons, as, like in the south stand, seats must be installed on the entire bank.

Therefore, the number of FC Copenhagen away fans able to attend the derby on April 14 will be 1,493.

Dialogue with Brøndby
On the basis of the necessary safety reduction of capacity at Brøndby Stadium, the two club's fan representatives have been in dialogue about the ticket allocation for BIF fans on May 5 in Telia Parken.

An agreement has been reached ticket allocations are matched in relation to the current agreement. Therefore, Brøndby will be allocated 1,843 tickets for the Derby on May 5.
