Cornelius scores in Copenhagen draw

Andreas Cornelius scored his first Alka Superliga goal of the season as FC Copenhagen came back to draw 1-1 with AaB on Saturday.

Cornelius struck five minutes before the break in Telia Parken - the forward heading home a deflected cross from Peter Ankersen.

Aalborg had taken the lead midway through the first half thanks to Christian Bassogog’s first-time shot from 12 yards out.

Cornelius went close with his head early in the second half, while Andrija Pavlovic hooked wide a golden opportunity on 54 minutes.

Jan Gregus stung the hands of goalkeeper Nicolai Larsen and Rasmus Falk sent a low effort wide of the left-hand post as FCK failed to break down the AaB defence again.

The point means Copenhagen are level with Brøndby at the to of the Superliga table, with the two sides set to go head to head at Brøndby Stadium this Sunday.

However, the Lions must first turn their attention to European football and a trip to APOEL in the Champions League playoff second leg.
