N’Doye clinches late point for Lions

Copenhagen to face SønderjyskE in Cup semis

The draw has been made for the semi finals of the DBU Cup, following FC Copenhagen’s 2-0 victory over FC Nordsjælland in the quarters last night in PARKEN.

Four clubs went into the pot, with the semi final ties set for the spring: SønderjyskE, HB Køge, AC Horsens and FCK. Copenhagen will face SønderjyskE, while Køge and Horsens will battle it out in the other semi.

The last time Copenhagen played SønderjyskE was in May, when the Haderslev side were still in the Superliga. The game at PARKEN finished 3-0 to the Lions, Thomas Kristensen opening the scoring before Dame N’Doye fired in a brace.

The first ties will be played on 18/19 April 2012, followed by a return leg the week after.

FCK Sporting Director Carsten V. Jensen was on hand to comment following the draw:

- It's a nice draw. SønderjyskE is a team we have a lot of respect for. They have come far, and have for years proven that on their good days they are able to match anyone. So there is no doubt that it will be a difficult task.

- I like the approach SønderjyskE have. They have made it through with small means for many years, they continue to show determination and are able to maintain a good position in the league. We sincerely recognise this. In fact, they have some of the qualities we've also put forward here at FCK. This winning mentality is ingrained in SønderjyskE.

The dates for the two-legged semi finals are as follows:

18/19 April:

FC Copenhagen – SønderjyskE

HB Køge – AC Horsens

25/26 April:

SønderjyskE – FC Copenhagen

AC Horsens – HB Køge

More information about the scheduled dates and kick off times will follow later on FCK.dk.
