The first training session of the season was also Roland Nilsson's first workout as the new head coach of FC Copenhagen. Due to various national team commitments it was a somewhat depleted squad who began the warm up this morning at Number 10. There were only ten players present, while the injured Martin Vingaard and Søren Frederiksen watched from the sidelines.

The training was very popular with the press; Roland Nilsson especially gave many interviews, and new man on the squad list, Johnny Thomsen, also received a lot of attention. Thomsen signed for FCK in January, but today was the day the former SønderjyskE player could greet his new team-mates for the first time, including Solvi Ottesen and Søren Frederiksen, whom he has previously played with.

Also back at the Lions’ training facility was Morten Nordstrand, who is looking forward to a new fresh start:

- I have some problems with the same injury, but it's a small thing and I expect very soon to train at full steam.

The training began quietly with light running and ball play. Accompanying the session was assistant coach Johan Lange, and Roland Nilsson offered one-on-one conversations with the players.

Tomorrow, the first part of training will be closed. The players are scheduled to go through some physical tests. Other than that, the next two weeks will involve double training sessions, with the players taking time off on Thursdays and Sundays.
