AFC Ajax in Round of 16

FC Copenhagen will play AFC Ajax in Round og 16. The first game will be played in Telia Parken in Copenhagen on March 9, 7 pm, and the return game in Amsterdam Arena on March 16, 9.05 pm.

- It's a good draw for both the team and the fans, and we have a fair chance, even though it's going to be be difficult, and we would have preferred to play the second leg at home. We have a historic relation to AFC Ajax, and we have shown that we can defeat them, but obviously we can't use that now. But a good draw, and we are looking forward to two great and interesting games, says manager Ståle Solbakken.
History
FC Copenhagen played AFC Ajax in 2001, and after 0-0 at home, FC Copenhagen won 1-0 i Amsterdam. The two teams met again in UEFA Champions League-playoff in 2006, and FC Copenhagen lost 1-2 at home, but won 2-0 in Amsterdam and qualified to the Group Stages for the first time ever.
