Adidas agrees groundbreaking sponsorship deal

FC Copenhagen and adidas can today announce a new kit sponsorship agreement between the two parties. Adidas has pledged to manufacture all FCK’s clothing range for the next four years, with the deal coming into affect for the start of the 2012/13 season.


FC Copenhagen CEO, Anders Hørsholt, said:

- We are very pleased that we have entered into an agreement with adidas, with the initial four-year deal for them to be our partners. The ambitions of both parties are sky high. The agreement reflects that FC Copenhagen, respectively, is the biggest football club in Scandinavia and adidas the leading international sports brand.


- We look forward to beginning our cooperation and are excited that from 1 July we can present new jerseys and many more FCK products from adidas.


The Copenhagen players and coaching staff will have access to football equipment of the highest quality and latest technologies that help to optimise performance on the pitch. Cooperation with Copenhagen strengthens adidas' position as a leading supplier of sporting products for both amateurs and professionals.


For adidas, cooperation with Copenhagen is an opportunity to achieve maximum visibility, not least in connection with the club's international matches.


Mikkel Christensen, Country Manager for adidas Denmark, stated:

- Adidas wants to be associated with the best and strongest brands. FC Copenhagen is every bit a top club, and therefore we have decided to become partners. The agreement is the largest we have ever made with a Nordic club, and will provide us with a close cooperation with the club, players and fans. We look forward to keeping up with FC Copenhagen in Europe.


With adidas being a large clothing partner, Scandinavia's leading football club now mingles in the company of many of Europe's biggest clubs, such as Real Madrid, AC Milan and Chelsea FC.


The partnership between adidas and FC Copenhagen comes into force on 1 July 2012, the same day the club celebrates its 20th anniversary. FC Copenhagen had adidas as their clothing manufacturer in the mid 90s.
