Moukoko ser frem mod sit første derby på Brøndby stadion.

Moukoko: Unity will help us in derby

Youssoufa Moukoko says he's looking forward to experiencing his first Copenhagen derby on Saturday and believes team togetherness will see the Lions to victory at Brøndby Stadium.

F.C. Copenhagen head into the first derby of the 2025/26 campaign top of the Danish Superliga after the international break.

Moukoko is one of several summer signings – including goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski – who are yet to experience a Copenhagen derby.

And the striker is hoping for a big display from the team.

"I'm really excited about what awaits us on Saturday. I've already heard a lot about this derby - and I can just say that I love this kind of showdown," says Moukoko.

"There will undoubtedly be tough opposition, both on the pitch and in the stands. But as always, we are determined to win and bring the three points home. I imagine it will be really intense - but I hope we will have three points in the end."

'Unified unit'
Although Moukoko is new to Copenhagen, he is far from inexperienced when it comes to big derby matches.

And so, the 20-year-old forward has a clear idea of how to approach Saturday's match against Brøndby.

"The most important thing is to play as a unified unit, stand compact in our lines and show great discipline - we also have to score when we get the chances," says Moukoko.

"As always, when we play away, the home team's fans are extra excited. The derby will of course be something special, but we need to use the pressure we are under as additional motivation. We must not let ourselves be influenced, but force the match to our terms."

Experience from the Revierderby
Moukoko joined FCK from Borussia Dortmund and the German striker has therefore experienced the famous Revierderby against Schalke 04.
With experience from one of Germany's most famous rivalries, Moukoko is ready to take part in the Copenhagen clash for the first time.

"I have played Dortmund against Schalke, but Brøndby against Copenhagen I have never tried before - and I am really looking forward to it," he adds.

The match kicks off at 3pm and can be watched live on TV3+ and Viaplay.
