Froholdt: We fought for the title as a group

Victor Froholdt was named Carlsberg Man of the Match following F.C. Copenhagen's 3-0 win over FC Nordsjælland on Sunday, which secured the Lions a 16th Danish Superliga title on the last day of the 2024/25 season.

Speaking after the game, the 19-year-old – a graduate of the FCK Talent Department – said: "I enjoy getting praise, I always feel like you can use that.

"I also think I've proven that it doesn't go to my head, but that I just use it to add some self-confidence to my game and to perform even better and help my team as best I can.

"I managed to message my dad on the way into Parken and tell him I could feel there was a little bit of nervousness today.

"But as soon as I came onto the pitch and could feel that we had all the fans behind us from minute one, I quickly put it aside and was able to play my game."

Elias Achouri, Jordan Larsson and Kevin Diks scored the goals for the Lions, who ended the game in jubilant mood.

"I think we deserved to win today and came out for the second half as we should have, because we knew that leading 1-0 would have been dangerous if they had suddenly scored a goal," added Froholdt.

"We have had a great team throughout (the season) and I have enjoyed being part of this team. I am happy that it all culminated in the title. We deserved that as a group.

"Nees [head coach Jacob Neestrup] said that we should remember the old days for our junior clubs, when we started as four-year-olds, because those were the days we trained and fought for. It was an absolutely magical experience to play in front of all the fans we had today.

"Now I'm going to party tonight, but we also have an important cup final on Thursday. The championship was our first priority but the cup is also very important to us. The double will be the icing on the cake of this season!"
