F.C. Copenhagen sell Liam West to Fredrikstad BK

F.C. Copenhagen can confirm Norwegian winger Liam West is returning to Norway and his former club Fredrikstad BK, after all parties reached an agreement for a transfer.

Director of Football, Kristjaan Speakman, says of the deal: “It's a tough challenge to make the leap to the senior squad, and although we feel Liam has potential, it's about assessing the best path for him. His own desire is to be closer to home, and this opportunity is a good solution.

“He will have the opportunity to develop, we will receive a significant transfer fee and retain a financial interest in the player going forward. We thank Liam for his years in Copenhagen and wish him all the best for the future."

West, 18, joined F.C. Copenhagen in January 2024, and now he is looking forward to moving back to Norway.

"I have had an incredible educational time in Copenhagen, for which I am very grateful. Now I look forward to heading home to Fredrikstad, getting valuable minutes in my legs and taking the next steps in my development at senior level," says West.
