New children's football centre up and running in Frederiksberg
The new Children's Football Centre in Frederiksberg has now been up and running for a month, after F.C. Copenhagen, FA 2000, KB and FB launched the new joint initiative.
"Frederiksberg is a football city," said the municipality's mayor, Michael Vindfeldt, in his opening speech in October. "We are proud of F.C. Copenhagen, but we are equally proud of having traditional and strong clubs like FB, KB and FA 2000 in our network.
"When our local clubs collaborate to strengthen children's football, it not only creates sporting opportunities, but also community and cohesion in the city. These are exactly the kinds of initiatives that make Frederiksberg special."
The Children's Football Centre is designed to house kids football activities and give children the best possible access to regular physical activity.
The venture falls under the FCK Children's Football pillar, which is part of F.C. Copenhagen's wider strategy to improve and develop football facilities for kids across the city.
"It is incredibly positive to see FA 2000, KB, FB and FCK Children's Football join forces on this initiative," added the mayor. "When the largest clubs in Frederiksberg collaborate, we can significantly raise the level of children's football – not just for individual players, but for all children who love football."
Safe and nurturing environment
FCK sporting director Sune Smith-Nielsen is also pleased about the new opportunities that the football center in Frederiksberg offers.
"All children have the right to good football training," says Sune. "That is why we've worked purposefully to create a safe, educational and nurturing training environment with high professionalism for everyone.
"The collaboration in Frederiksberg is an important step in that direction, and together with KB, FB and FA 2000 we are creating a strong framework for children's football across the clubs in Frederiksberg."
