Hvidovre IF er ny strategisk samarbejdsklub i F.C. København

Hvidovre IF becomes strategic partner club with focus on children's football

It is with great pleasure that F.C. Copenhagen can today announce Hvidovre IF as a strategic partner club.

Hvidovre IF are a club with a long tradition and are this year celebrating their 100th anniversary.

The club, located to the south west of Copenhagen, have chosen to enter into a collaboration with F.C. Copenhagen as a strategic partner club, with the aim of strengthening children's football.

"In Hvidovre IF's 100th anniversary year, it has been important for us not only to reflect on the past, but to shape the future," says Hvidovre IF's board of directors.

“Here, children's football has been a natural focus, and 2025 has been a historic year for the children's department at Hvidovre IF. We started the year by becoming a DBU Children's Club, we put extra effort behind girls' football, and when equality and a safe framework were strengthened, the next step was to raise the quality on the children's side.

“Here, it felt natural to look towards F.C. Copenhagen, where through activities such as ATK+ on both the player and coach side, we have experienced the quality of FCK's children's football when we have had our coaches and players visit.

“We are now looking forward to developing and formalising the collaboration. With the framework for the strategic partnership in place, our most important focus will be to develop the collaboration together with staff, namely the children's coaches at Hvidovre IF.

“The collaboration agreement will provide even better opportunities to strengthen their skills through supervision and education in a daily coaching work, and create the best conditions for the children to experience joy and development in their football environment.

“At the same time, we believe and hope for a mutual value of the collaboration, where we will not only receive knowledge and inspiration from FCK, but can also challenge and contribute the other way.

“With a strong collaboration and two children's departments, we will have an even better opportunity to create new knowledge about what works best in children's football – for the benefit of both clubs and for Danish children's football as a whole.”

A strong partner
Niels Madsen, head of F.C. Copenhagen's club collaboration, sees Hvidovre IF as a strong partner in our ambition to raise the bar of children's football even higher.

“In Hvidovre IF, we see a very strong partner who can contribute greatly to our ability to raise children's football to the next level, both locally in Hvidovre and throughout Copenhagen,” says Niels.

“We have had an informal collaboration with Hvidovre IF for several years, so it was a natural step to enter into a larger collaboration. In connection with ATK+ training at Frederiksberg, we have experienced that we have many of the same thoughts and attitudes towards children's football.

“Hvidovre IF have great ambitions for their children's football, both for girls and boys, and with both clubs' experience and knowledge of children's football, we are convinced that together we can develop and elevate the children's environment in Hvidovre IF to new heights.

“We are very much looking forward to getting to know the managers, coaches and players at Hvidovre IF better and spending a lot of time with them, both on and off the pitch, with the common goal of strengthening both the strategic and sporting work in the club's children's environment.

“Knowledge sharing will be central elements, and there is plenty of knowledge and experience at Hvidovre IF that we can learn from, and which can also inspire our many other partner clubs for the benefit of children's football.

"We welcome Hvidovre IF as a strategic partner club, and we are very much looking forward to starting the collaboration."
