Jonathan Moalem joins Strømsgodset on loan

F.C. Copenhagen have agreed to send Jonathan Moalem on loan to Strømsgodset IF in Norway.

Moalem will continue his development with the aim of playing regular football at senior level in Norway, having received his football education at KB and FCK Talent.

He has been a regular part of the FCK first-team squad for the past year without having achieved official playing time at senior level.

The decision to loan Moalem out is made to ensure he gets the necessary minutes and match experience, says Kristjaan Speakman, Football Director at F.C. Copenhagen.

”Jonathan has now been part of our first-team squad for a year, but to take the next step in his development he needs real playing time in competitive matches,” he says.

“The opportunity at Strømsgodset gives him the framework to get the necessary minutes at senior level. At the same time, he will gain valuable experience in performing away from the club, where he will now have to stand on his own two feet and take responsibility for his own process.

"We look forward to following his development in the Norwegian league over the coming year.”

Moalem: Important to get out and get minutes
Moalem himself sees the loan spell in Norway as the right next step, saying: “After a year in the first-team squad, it is extremely important for me to get out and get playing time at senior level.

"A good development plan has been laid out for me, and I am looking forward to going to Strømsgodset, standing on my own two feet and taking the chance to get minutes in my legs and build on my experience.”

The loan agreement with Strømsgodset IF, who are based in Drammen, is for one year.
