F.C. Copenhagen extend contract with Viktor Dadason

F.C. Copenhagen and Viktor Dadason have agreed on a new long-term contract running until the summer of 2031.

The Icelandic forward had just turned 16 when he joined F.C. Copenhagen from Fram Reykjavik in the summer of 2024, and he hasn’t looked back since he arrived in the Danish capital.

Dadason immediately made a mark in the youth academy and made his first-team debut as a 17-year-old, where he, among other achievements, scored three goals in F.C. Copenhagen's Champions League campaign, becoming the third-youngest goalscorer in the competition's history.

In a memorable moment at Camp Nou in January 2026, he put F.C. Copenhagen 1-0 ahead against FC Barcelona after just four minutes of play, while in May he once again made history as the youngest player in the starting lineup for the Lions in a Danish Cup final.

With the new contract, there will be plenty of opportunities for 'Dada' to reach new milestones for F.C. Copenhagen.

Dadason: Hard work pays off
The young striker has just turned 18 and does not hide his pride in signing the new long-term contract in the capital.

"It's a fantastic feeling to sign this contract. I have worked hard for this every single day. I am incredibly proud and delighted that the club shows so much trust in me," says Dadason.

"F.C. Copenhagen have had a clear development plan for me right from the beginning, and now we have set new goals together. I cannot imagine a better environment to develop in, and I love being here so much. The coaches, staff, and teammates push me every day to become better, and I am super excited to continue my journey here, score a lot of goals, and win trophies together with the team."

Speakman: An important piece of our future
For FCK’s sporting director Kristjaan Speakman, the new contract with Dadason has been a top priority.

”We are delighted that Viktor has extended his contract through to 2031, it’s a significant endorsement of what we are doing at the club that Viktor feels this is the place to progress and make an impact. It is an essential cornerstone of our strategy to develop and retain our talents over longer periods, which is why reaching an agreement on Viktor's future has been a very high priority,” says Speakman.

”His development over the last 12 months has been exciting and his mindset is fixed on improving and maximising his potential. I’ve really enjoyed my conversations with him on the next stage of his career with us at F.C. Copenhagen, he can develop into a key player for the club if he continues his positive development.”

Bo Svensson: Possesses unique goalscoring abilities
Head coach Bo Svensson is delighted to look into the future alongside the physically strong and clinical striker.

"Viktor has some very special qualities on the pitch that make him incredibly exciting to work with. With his height and impressive physicality, he commands a lot of presence in the box. At the same time, he possesses really good technique, intelligent movement in the half-spaces, and, of course, a highly developed instinct for goal," says Svensson.

"He can finish in an awful lot of different ways. He is mature in his playing style, quick to learn, and constantly building on his game. At the same time, he is incredibly dedicated to his own development and the team's progress. He is truly a pleasure to work with, and we look forward to continuing his development together."
