Beijmo secures Copenhagen move: A strong addition to the backline
F.C. Copenhagen are delighted to confirm the signing of 28-year-old Swedish defender Felix Beijmo on a four-year deal. Beijmo's arrival further strengthens the Lions' back line.
For technical director Nils Koppen, Beijmo's arrival aligns with the club's strategy of maintaining a strong Scandinavian core capable of performing from day one.
"We have been looking for a defensive player with a strong winning mentality, who knows the Superliga and the Scandinavian culture inside out," says Koppen.
"Felix tested himself abroad at a young age and has experienced firsthand what the highest professional standards require of a player. That has matured him and given him great resilience.
"Over recent seasons, he has shown a consistently high level at AGF, and he possesses natural leadership qualities that will fit well into our squad. At the same time, Felix has expressed a great desire to come to Copenhagen and help reclaim the championship next season. That hunger and ambition will be crucial for our team moving forward."
Svensson: A tactical and physical asset
Head coach Bo Svensson is looking forward to welcoming Beijmo to FCK's squad environment, where the Swede's versatility and physical attributes will be a major asset.
"Felix is an incredibly versatile defender who can cover several different positions in the back line at a solid level," says Svensson. "He has good pace and a strong right foot, which gives us some exciting options to work with – both defensively and in our build-up play.
"He is a physically reliable player who is incredibly tough and robust in his duels. Tactically, he is extremely disciplined, and he manages to hold the defence together and make the right decisions under pressure.
"He knows what it takes to win football matches in this league."
Everyone at F.C. Copenhagen would like to welcome Beijmo to the club.
