Kotarski ready for first Copenhagen derby

F.C. Copenhagen goalkeeper Dominik Kotarski says he's ready for his first derby against Brøndby on Saturday, having heard plenty about the historic clash since joining the club.

FCK head to Brøndby Stadium for Saturday's 3pm kick off – the first game back after the international break.

And Kotarski is looking forward to the game.

"I've heard that there is a great atmosphere and that it can be quite intense, and it's of course a shame that our fans can't be there," says Kotarski.

"But I know the problem from Greece, where away fans are not allowed either.

"I like playing these kinds of matches, and derbies are always something special. I'm really curious too, now that I've heard so much about them, so I'm looking forward to experiencing it myself."

Kotarski was on international duty with Croatia over the past fortnight, meaning he and plenty of the FCK first team have had only a handful of training sessions before Saturday's clash.

"You always have to spend some time getting back together, but we're in a really good place, and there's a really good atmosphere where you can feel that everyone is happy to be together again," he says.

"Now there's a period ahead with many big matches to come, where we're also going out to play in the Champions League, and as I usually say, it's the big matches that you look forward to the most.

"That's what we train for every day, so it's going to be an exciting period, where we obviously want to win and celebrate with our fans."

Brøndby vs FCK kicks off at 3pm on Saturday, before the Lions turn attention to our first Champions League game of the season, at home to Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday (6:45pm).
