Verbic strike sets FCK on victory path

Benjamin Verbic inspired FC Copenhagen to a 3-0 victory at Odense on Sunday with a goal that set the Lions on their way to three points.

The winger smashed home his fourth goal of the season from the edge of the area 40 minutes in after determined work from Andreas Cornelius.

Verbic was then involved in the build-up that saw OB defender Frederik Tingager direct a Tom Høgli cross into his own net.

At the other end Robin Olsen did well to push away an Anders Jacobsen chance, while Rasmus Jonsson blazed over the crossbar.

And Thomas Delaney wrapped up the victory for Copenhagen with a sublime left-footed lob from inside the box with 14 minutes remaining.

The result maintains FCK’s six-point lead at the top of the Alka Superliga as attention now turns to Wednesday’s DBU Cup clash at Jammerbugt.
