Ståle: - Newtown were impressive

Two goals from Marvin Pourie and a Nicolai Jørgensen penalty helped FC Copenhagen to a 5-1 aggregate victory over Newtown in the Europa League this evening.

In the foothills of the Welsh mountains over 50 FCK fans travelled to watch the Lions progress to the third qualifying round of the competition.

After the game FCK.dk caught up with staff and players to gauge their reaction to the 3-1 win.

Manager Ståle Solbakken

- We were in control of things and it was important that we got the first goal, for that determined the result. It meant we could take the game at a more leisurely pace and change a few things at the break.

- I am impressed by Newtown. They are a well-organised team that is dangerous on set pieces and also how they reduced the deficit in the second half. It is obvious that we are generally stronger but they matched us in the air with good timing and accuracy. I hope they can climb a few places up in the league next year.

Captain Thomas Delaney

- They made it more difficult for us in the first leg in Copenhagen but they also give us a good fight today. But we were prepared and showed that we are clearly the best team.

Marvin Pourie

- I'm really happy to get on the scoreboard today, it's good for the confidence. I could have scored a few in the first match, so it was nice that they came today. But I also got some perfect assists from (Kasper) Kusk and (Peter) Ankersen.
