Ståle: I was satisfied with performance against Qarabag

Ståle Solbakken was pleased F.C. Copenhagen’s performance in the 2-1 win over Qarabag, even though the Lions failed to book a place in the Champions League group stage.

"We played a good game on Wednesday and our last two home games have been good. We created six or seven good chances and they only had two chances - although of course they scored with one of those,” Ståle said after the win over Qarabag.

“We're in a period where our game is improving but we have not been lucky as we may lose Federico Santander for a while after he had a problem with his leg.

FCK went out 2-2 on aggregate to Qarabag, who scored the vital away goal in Telia Parken.

The Lions will now play in the Europa League.

"Overall, I'm pleased with the performance, although their goal might look a little too easy. Immediately, a defender or midfielder would probably have kicked the ball away. Had we kept to this level of play over both games, our fortunes might have been different,” Ståle added.

Following the exit from the Champions League, full focus now swings to Sunday's Superliga match against FC Nordsjælland.
