Opening-day victory for FCK

FC Copenhagen cruised to a 3-0 result over Lyngby to kick off their Alka Superliga title defence with a home win.

The Lions took the lead through Youssef Toutouh’s back-post header from a Peter Ankersen cross just after the half-hour mark.

Benjamin Verbic added a second from the angle 52 minutes in after again being set up by right-back Ankersen.

And moments later captain Thomas Delaney netted through goalkeeper Jesper Hansen’s leg from Federico Santander’s knockdown.

Toutouh, debutant Andrija Pavlovic and Ankersen all spurned chances before the opener 33 minutes in.

Next up for FCK is the second leg of their Champions League second qualifying round tie against Northern Irish title holders Crusaders.

Copenhagen carry a 3-0 aggregate lead from the first leg for Tuesday’s tie in Telia Parken.
