Head coach Ariel Jacobs named a strong XI despite his side playing 30 minutes of extra time against Lille in midweek. The Lions seemed determined to overcome their misfortune in France and took the lead six minutes in with a neat glanced header from Cornelius.

Johan Wiland tipped over Emil Larsen’s effort on 10 minutes to keep the home side at bay, before showing magnificent reflexes to parry away Morten Skoubo’s half volley from close range.

The majority of FCK’s attacking play came down the right and César Santin was just a stud’s length away from converting Lars Jacobsen’s low cross from the wing. Jørgensen then came close to 26 minutes, flicking a Christian Bolaños pass into the side netting.

Yet Copenhagen’s pressure did not pay off and OB equalised five minutes after half time. Wiland somewhat flapped at a long ball and Skoubo managed to eke out a pass to Andreas Johanson, who nailed the free opportunity into an unguarded net.

Copenhagen did not let the equaliser dishearten them however, and after Skoubo had come close Jørgensen let fly on 62 minutes to make it 2-1. The striker earned his right for possession winning a long pass with his head and, as the ball dropped down, side-footed a volley over the keeper and into the top corner of the net.

Yet just four minutes later it was 2-2 when Sölvi Ottesen sliced a routine clearance into the path of Rúrik Gíslason, who took one touch before drilling a shot below Wiland from close range. Further nerves would comes FCK’s way as Wiland was forced to tip a header away before the home side hit the crossbar with just eight minutes remaining.
