Lions go down 4-1 in Barcelona
Viktor Dadason's early goal had F.C. Copenhagen in front at Camp Nou and on course to qualify for the UEFA Champions League knockout stages, before FC Barcelona staged a second-half comeback to take all three points on Wednesday evening.
Dadason continued his excellent season for the Lions when exchanging passes with Mohammed Elyounoussi before slotting home to send FCK's 2,300 travelling fans wild just four minutes in.
The goal came on the break and FCK had further half-chances to extend their lead, while Dominik Kotarski denied Robert Lewandowski and Eric Garcia, while Garcia also clattered the crossbar.
The Lions went into half time a goal up but Barcelona hit back early in the second half. It was Lewandowski who popped up with there leveller a minute after Kotarski had again denied Garcia with a low save.
Head coach Jacob Neestrup then switched things up, with Viktor Claesson and Mads Emil Madsen coming on for Dadason and William Clem.
And minutes later FCK had a golden chance to retake the lead when hitting their hosts on the break. Marcos López charged up the left wing and played an early cross to Jordan Larsson, who curled his effort inches over the crossbar.
Unfortunately for Larsson and co., Barca then grabbed their second through Lamine Yamal's shot that took a wicked deflection off an FCK leg.
Youssoufa Moukoko and Robert Silva then came on for FCK – replacing Larsson and Elias Achouri – as Neestrup sought a leveller. But then Barcelona struck again when Lewandowski went down in the box after miscuing a shot. Raphinha stepped up to convert the resulting spot kick.
Oliver Højer then joined the action in place of Elyounoussi, but Marcus Rashford put the game to bed when burying a free kick.
There was still time for Gabriel to get a goal back for FCK, only for it to be ruled out by VAR, while Rashford hit the crossbar deep in stoppage time.
The 4-1 defeat means FCK finish 31st in the League Phase and exit the Champions League.
