Lions downed in Slovenia training game

FC Copenhagen went down 1-0 in their second re-season match in Slovenia to Romanian side Astra Giurgiu.

Filipe Teixeira’s sublime turn and chip off the crossbar was the difference during a tight game.

Andreas Cornelius and Benjamin Verbic came closest for the Lions - the latter clipping the post with a free-kick seep in the second half.

And Astra ended the match with 10 men after Florin Lovin was given a second yellow card for an elbow.

Copenhagen face Northern Irish side Crusaders in the second qualifying round of the Champions League next week.

Before then they will play their final friendly against Dinamo Zagreb in the Slovenian town of Murski Sobota on Wednesday.
