Jørgensen double sinks Helsinki in Europa

Nicolai Jørgensen scored twice off the bench to fire FC Copenhagen to victory over Helsinki in their opening Group B fixture of the UEFA Europa League.

by Joe Short

Jørgensen capitalised on a defensive error to put FCK ahead on the turn after Andreas Cornelius saw his second-half penalty saved.

And the 23-year-old made it 2-0 with a neat header from Pierre Bengtsson’s centre to put the tie beyond doubt.

Alex Kacaniklic and Bengtsson also went close for FCK, while Jørgensen was denied another by the crossbar as the Lions ended round one top of Group B.
