Isak Johannesson

Johannesson moves on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf

F.C. Copenhagen have loaned Ísak Bergmann Johannesson to Fortuna Düsseldorf in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga. The agreement applies for the rest of the season.

Johannesson, 20, joined FCK from IFK Norrköping two years ago and has played 61 games over two seasons, which has resulted in two championships and a cup title.

"Ísak is a player with great potential who has contributed well to FCK with important goals and good performances," says sporting director Peter Christiansen.

"He is also at a point in his career where continuous playing time is crucial for his development, and the competitive situation in his positions at FCK is very high. Therefore, it makes good sense for a loan stay at a big club, where we want to follow him closely.”

Discussing the loan, Johannesson says: “I feel good at FCK and have already achieved a lot with the club, but right now playing time is paramount for me and I think Düsseldorf is a really good match in that respect.

"I'm looking forward to trying my hand at a new place and in a big footballing country, where I will of course continue to follow FCK.”

Everyone at FCK wishes Ísak the best of luck in Germany.
