A historic night

For the first time in the clubs history, FC Copenhagen has advanced to the Round of 16 in UEFA Europa League. In 2009 og 2010 we also reached the Round of 32, but were eliminated by Manchester City and Olympique Marseille.

The Danish 2-1-victory in the first leg in Sofia meant that Ludogorets had to score at least two goals - against a rock solid defence, who has not conceeded one single goal in six European home games this season!

The Bulgarians tried, and they had a lot of possession, but when it came to finishing they lacked precision and didn't cause a lot of problems for Robin Olsen, and their crosses were expertly dealed with by Zanka and Johansson in the central defence.

FC Copenhagen missed William Kvist and Jan Gregus due to suspension and played 19-year old Aboubakar Keita in the central midfield along Uros Matic. Without playing one of their best games, The Lions kept their heads cool and took their chances on counter-attacks and setpieces, and after 90 minutes they could look back on more dangerous attempts than Ludogorets.

0-0 was more than enough to write another chapter in FCKs history book - and the Danish champions still hasn't lost a home game since August 2015 in any competitions!
