Grønkjær joins F.C. Copenhagen

F.C. Copenhagen and Danish International Jesper Grønkjær friday agreed on a 4 year contract. The 28 year old attacking midfielder has played more than 200 matches for such clubs as Ajax Amsterdam, Chelsea FC, Atletico Madrid and VfB Stuttgart from which he joined Copenhagen. Jesper has played 60 international games, including one World Cup and two European Championships.

The President of F.C. Copenhagen, Flemming Østergaard:

- Coach Ståle Solbakken have had Jesper on his shortlist from the moment he joined the club, so we are obviously very proud that we succeeded in getting his wish granted. This signing will certainly be a big help in reaching our primary goal for the season: Reaching the Champions League group stage.

 - Going back to Denmark was a difficult decision after eight years abroad. When I took the step, F.C. Copenhagen was the most natural choice, being the biggest club in Scandinavia. I feel that F.C. Copenhagen have the potential to go far in the European tournaments. The clubs high ambitions appeal to me and the environment seems perfect, said Jesper Grønkjær.
