Gabriel Pereira Acquitted – Case Appealed

F.C. Copenhagen’s central defender, Gabriel Pereira, has had his suspension annulled by the Portuguese Sports Court. However, the Portuguese Football Federation has appealed the decision.

When F.C. Copenhagen’s central defender, Gabriel Pereira, joined the club in the summer of 2024, he had just received a 60-day suspension from the Portuguese Football Federation following an altercation at the end of the previous season’s final match in Portugal between Estrela da Amadora and Gil Vicente, Gabriel’s former club. The Brazilian, along with several other players, coaches, and staff members from the two Portuguese clubs, was handed a 60-day suspension.

After 15 months, the Portuguese Sports Court has now concluded that there are no grounds for suspending Gabriel, who has therefore been acquitted.

However, the Portuguese Football Federation has now appealed the case to the Tribunal Central Administrativo Sul, the Portuguese civil appellate court responsible for reviewing administrative decisions.

F.C. Copenhagen is following the development and has no further comments at this time.
