FCK's run halted by derby draw

FC Copenhagen were held to a goalless draw in the derby with Brøndby as Federico Santander hit the post and was sent off in a tense affair west of the capital.

Santander had the best chance of the game when he controlled and drilled his shot off BIF’s left-hand post 27 minutes into the game.

The striker then saw a headed effort well saved before half time while Youssef Toutouh also had a shot blocked.

But Santander’s evening was ended early when he lunged into a tackle with Martin Albrechtsen and was shown a second yellow card.

Brøndby sought a win against 10 men and Christian Jakobsen headed wide a good opening, although it was Ronnie Schwartz who spurned the best chance to snatch it late on when he shot straight into Stephan Andersen’s hands from 14 yards.

The draw end a run of four straight wins for FCK but keeps the club top of the Alka Superliga heading into the international break, with a home clash against Viborg scheduled upon the squad’s return.
