U19-cheftræner Alfred Johansson

FCK U19s in another Cup final Wednesday

F.C. Copenhagen's first team will take to the Parken field on Thursday for the Danish Cup final against AaB – but the day before the FCK U19s will also be competing for a trophy.

Coach Alfred Johansson has guided his players to a fourth U19 cup final in five season. The match against Lyngby kicks off at 6:30pm on Wednesday at Tingbjerg Idrætspark.

And Johansson is looking forward to showing the development of his players on the big stage.

"We are looking forward to playing in the cup final again, we love it!" says Johansson, who witnessed FCK U19's 3-1 win over Lyngby at the weekend.

"We learned plenty from the game on Saturday and so have they, so I don't think it will be the same game. They will probably change some things, and we also have to become more skilled at some things, so it will probably be a different match picture."

Oscar Højlund, Emil Thor and Alexander Simmelhack got the goals for FCK U19s at the weekend but Johansson isn't ready to reveal his starting XI for Wednesday.

"There may be [changes] with the starting line-ups," adds Johansson, who was without Aksel Halsgaard and Noah Sahsah on Saturday, as they were busy with the first team.

"Regardless of who we field, we always go on the pitch to express ourselves how we want, and to execute what we do in training. This means being strong as a collective and being aggressive and forward-looking in our game," says Johansson.
