F.C. København henter Kasper Kusk

FCK sign Kasper Kusk

FC Copenhagen have signed Danish midfielder Kasper Kusk on a five-year contract from FC Twente.

Kusk started his career at AaB, where he scored 12 goals and provided eight further assists in the 2013/14 season.

He won the Superliga title and DBU Cup with his former club and was named Coaches’ Player of the Year before leaving for Holland last summer.

Manager Ståle Solbakken said of the signing:

- Kasper is a player we have long wished to see in an FC Copenhagen jersey and we are very pleased that this is now going to happen.

- We are very pleased to see Kasper expressing his great talent at Copenhagen.

Kusk himself spoke of his determination to get going at his new club.

- For me, this is not a step back but a step forward, he said.

- FC Copenhagen is a great club, not just in Scandinavia but also internationally.

- I am very pleased to get a fresh start, play a lot of football and not least contribute to FC Copenhagen’s aim of winning more titles.

Kusk has so far played seven games for the Danish national team and Ståle highlighted that experience as a great asset to the 23-year-old’s game.

- Kasper has had an unfortunate time at Twente, but he has shown at both AaB and the national team that he can play at a high international level where he contributes both goals and assists, Ståle said.

- He has a high level of intelligence and he still has a lot of potential that can elevate him further. We are confident that he will do this at Copenhagen.

Kasper will receive the number 17 shirt at FC Copenhagen and will begin training with his new team-mates this summer.
