FCK Women can secure promotion next week after Østerbro IF draw

F.C. Copenhagen Women will have to wait to celebrate being called an A-Liga team after missing out on promotion on Saturday.

The Lionesses drew 1-1 with Østerbro IF over the weekend in a game that would have secured the team automatic promotion to next season's top flight.

Celine Kampmann put FCK ahead shortly before the break, only for Juliane Foss Gade to equalise with 15 minutes remaining.

With two rounds of play remaining, the Lionesses have 14 points and it second in the table, five points behind FC Midtjylland. ASA Aarhus are third with 12 points, FC Thy/ThistedQ fourth with 11, and OB Q fifth with nine points.

Promotion can be secured on Saturday 30 May when the team travel to FC Thy/ThistedQ (2pm). With a win, a place in the A-Liga will be secured. Should we fail to secure a win there, the Lionesses can also go up OB Q fail to beat FC Midtjylland at the same time.

The last home game of the season in Vanløse is on 13 June against FC Midtjylland.
