FCK earn 0-0 draw in Munich

F.C. Copenhagen secured what could be a crucial point in the battle to progress from the UEFA Champions League group stage with a dogged 0-0 draw at Bayern Munich on Wednesday.

Elias Achouri came close to scoring a late winner but his header and subsequent rebound were magnificently saved by Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Diogo Gonçalves also went close from range, while Roony Bardghji fired wide in the first half.

At the other end Kamil Grabara was on top form, magnificently turning a Thomas Müller header round the post.

Bayern twice had appeals for a penalty checked by VAR. The first was denied, while the second saw the referee head to the video monitor and overturn her own call in stoppage time.

It was a well-deserved point for the Lions, who sit second in Group A with a game remaining. FCK are level on points with Galatasaray but have a better goal difference, while Manchester United are a point behind in fourth.

A win in the final group game – at home to Galatasaray in Parken on 12 December – would secure FCK safe passage to the last-16. However, even a draw would be enough if United fail to beat Bayern in their match the same night.
