Jubel efter scoring

F.C. Copenhagen reach 2025 Danish Cup final

Lukas Lerager's first-half goal secured F.C. Copenhagen a 1-0 win in Parken against Viborg on Thursday and a 2-0 aggregate scoreline to advance from the Danish Cup semi-finals.

Lerager's incredible looping shot from 35 yards caught everyone off-guard – even the thousands of supporters watching inside Denmark's national stadium.

After the game FCK head coach Jacob Neestrup said: "The most important thing now is that we are in a period where we are winning our matches, and I think it is really deserved that we have reached cup final and can say that we have won five games in a row.

"Earlier in the season our play was perhaps better and we created more and got fewer rewards. We have never complained about that, but we are very happy that we are in a cup final again.

"Things could have been better over the two semi-finals but we have rotated a lot. We started with Elyounoussi today solely because he needs to get match sharpness, and it goes without saying that it's a bit crazy situation to do this in a semi-final. I also think that while it's good, you could see that there were some things that were a bit rusty.

"But we have won 2-0 over two games and have come through with many players over a tight schedule. It was a game that is very close to two huge Superliga games, so it's really great to progress.

"We are happy that we are in the cup final, and we are looking forward to playing against Silkeborg."

The 2025 Danish Cup final between FCK and Silkeborg will take place on 29 May at 4pm at Brøndby Stadium. Ticket details for FCK's allocation will be issued shortly.
