F.C. Copenhagen players visit Rigshospitalet children's heart department
F.C. Copenhagen's players visited the children's heart department of the capital's central hospital (Rigshospitalet) last Friday to spread the joy of football among kids with heart conditions.
In collaboration with the Heart Association and Hjertebold (Heart Ball), players from the FCK Women's and Men's teams, plus volunteer coaches, stopped by for a football match with the children.
Goals were scored, autographs were signed and a fair few FCK gifts were given out, while the youngest patients were kept company by Leo and soft lion teddy bears.
It was a day filled with big smiles, socialising and community for all the kids, and we thank everyone – children, parents, carers and staff – for their warm welcome.
Hjertebold is a special football school for children with congenital heart defects between, among others, F.C. Copenhagen, the Heart Association Rigshospitalet, DGI and Comwell Portside. The football school is about creating joy through movement and community, and we will repeat the success of Hjertebold in September.
