F.C. Copenhagen players to return on Monday for new season

After the longest season on record the F.C. Copenhagen players will be back in training next Monday to begin preparations for the 2020/21 campaign.

FCK finished second in the 3F Superliga last term and reached the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals.

Their last game against Manchester United was played on 10 August and, after a fortnight rest, the players are due back at Number 10 on 24 August.

F.C. Copenhagen fixtures
The new Superliga season kicks off on 13 September with an away trip to OB.

F.C. Copenhagen fixtures will initially run until the 19th or 20th December, after which Danish football enjoys a brief winter break.

European football gets underway for the Lions on 17 September with our first match in the second round of Europa League qualifying.

Each qualifying round is competed over one leg this season, rather than two.

Nations League fixtures
Meanwhile, there are a number of international matches scheduled for September, October and November.

The Nations League games will affect players at the club, while Denmark matches are due to take place at Telia Parken stadium.

Any FCK players called up for international duty will have just one week of club training before heading to their national sides on 31 August.

VAR test in Lyngby friendly
FCK also plan to play two friendly games before the start of the new Superliga season.

Only one is currently in place - a trip to Harboe Arena in Slagelse for a battle with Lyngby at 11:00 on Monday, 7 September.

The match will also be a test game for the new VAR system, which is being introduced to the Superliga this season.

Later this week FCK.dk will publish an overview of the Europa League draw dates for the coming season.
