Delaney leveller keeps semi-final in balance

Thomas Delaney’s second-half equaliser left FC Copenhagen’s DBU Cup semi-final with Brøndby finely in the balance heading into the second leg later this month.

Delaney reacted first to a goalmouth scramble to level for the Lions in Telia Parken.

Brøndby had taken the lead through Teemu Pukki’s 27th-minute header that caught goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski off guard.

Captain Delaney twice came close to equalising for the hosts and Youssef Toutouh volleyed wide a golden chance before the scores were eventually evened seven minutes from time.

BIF’s Christian Nørgaard spurned a final chance at the death to hand the west Copenhageners victory, with the reverse tie scheduled for Wednesday 20 April, three days after FCK host Brøndby in the Alka Superliga.
