The tournament has seen Nordsjælland take the Cup in the previous two seasons. They beat FC Midtjylland 3-2 in the 2010/11 final back in May.

FCN in the Cup this season

Nordsjælland have played three games in the DBU Cup this season, and are yet to concede a goal. They entered in the second round of the tournament, and immediately ran out impressive winners over Hillerød Fodbold, 6-0.  In the third round they faced a tough battle against FC Hjørring, the first division side succumbing 2-0 to the Superliga outfit. Christian Gytkjær and Nicolai Stokholm with the goals.

The victory over Hjørring meant FCN progressed to the fourth round, staged last month at Farum Park, against FC Midtjylland. A 1-0 victory saw the team qualify to face Copenhagen, the winning goal scored by Søren Christensen before the break. Nordsjælland have therefore recorded a 9-0 aggregate scoreline so far in the DBU Cup.

FCK v FCN in figures

There have been 24 games between Copenhagen and FCN, with the Lions taking 15 victories, having drawn four and lost four of the remaining eight. FCK have a 40-23 aggregate score.

The clubs have met 12 times in PARKEN. Copenhagen have won seven matches, FCN have claimed two with the remaining three ending in a tie. The Lions also dominate this goal aggregate, 20-13.

Copenhagen’s largest victory over FCN is 3-0, a result that has occurred twice. Conversely, Nordsjælland’s biggest win is 3-1, which happened at the last meeting between the two sides.

The teams have never previously met in the DBU Cup. However, back when Farum BK existed – before the formation of FC Nordsjælland – Copenhagen travelled to Farum Park and overturned the former club 4-2, in March 2004.
