Neestrup on FC Fredericia 'disappointment'
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup admitted Sunday's 2-1 defeat to FC Fredericia was "another big disappointment" as the Lions suffered a third successive loss in the Danish Superliga.
Youssoufa Moukoko's last-minute penalty wasn't enough to claw FCK back into the game, with Sofus Johannesen and Friday Etim having put the visitors two up before the break.
"It was another big disappointment, and of course it hurts," said Neestrup afterwards.
"I think we started the game okay today, even though it wasn't perfect, and they made some changes. But we gradually worked our way into the game, and as we approached the middle of the half, we had started to put something that resembled pressure on them.
"But after we missed a double chance, they ran down and scored ten seconds later, and we broke down and almost panicked.
"Our game became nervous and cramped, and we were paralysed in the last 20 minutes before the break, and you could see that we are a team without self-confidence at the moment.
“It got better in the second half, where we tried to apply the pressure that we need to and can, and it’s hard to ask for more than what we got. But the ball just wouldn’t go in, even though we had about 35 shots and an xG of almost 5. When we finally got the ball in the goal, it was a few centimetres offside.
“But that’s where we are at the moment. Now we have two weeks to work on the training pitch before we go into the match against Silkeborg here in Parken, where we obviously need to get the victory so can turn the tide."
