Copenhagen through to DBU Cup final

Ludwig Augustinsson’s late free-kick pushed FC Copenhagen past Esbjerg and into the DBU Cup final.

The Lions left-back curled home an inch-perfect effort late in the second leg to hand FCK a 1-0 aggregate result.

Danny Amartey forced a strong save out of Esbjerg goalkeeper, while Steve De Ridder placed an angled free-kick high over the crossbar Copenhagen laboured up front.

At the other end, Stephan Anderson twice denied Emil Lyng from opening the scoring before Mick van Buren sliced wide a far-post effort in the dying seconds.

The win sees FCK qualify for a 10th DBU Cup final, where they will face FC Vestsjælland at Telia Parken on 14 May.
