Copenhagen sign Olsen and Ankersen

FC Copenhagen have confirmed the permanent signings of on-loan players Robin Olsen and Peter Ankersen.

Goalkeeper Olsen, 26, has signed a four-year contract from Greek side PAOK.

“I am very, very happy,” Olsen told FCK.dk. “This is absolutely perfect for me, and I am doing really well at FCK.

“I am also happy with my first six months at the club.

“However, I am in no doubt that I can do even better and I will work hard to do so.”

Swede Olsen was brought to the club when Stephan Andersen suffered a serious injury during the winter and the pair will work together to compete for a place in manager Ståle Solbakken’s XI.

“There must always be tough competition for all places in a club like FC Copenhagen,” Olsen added.

“Stephan Andersen, Kim Christensen, Thomas Kaminski and I push each other every day on the training ground but we are also very good colleagues.

“I look forward to continuing my work with the other talented goalkeepers at the club and it's up to Ståle and the coaching staff to decide who plays each Sunday. I will do everything I can to ensure I am selected.”

Ankersen has also penned a four-year contract after impressing during his loan stint from Red Bull Salzburg.

The Dane, who started his professional career at Alka Superliga side Esbjerg, has made 28 league appearances for the club this season.

And manager Solbakken believes the 25-year-old can get even better.

“Peter has convinced us that he is the right type of defender for FCK,” Solbakken said.

“His first half (of the season) was OK and his last half has been really good, both offensively and defensively.

“On the defensive side, he has shown great willingness to learn and has gotten better and better.

“He also could improve more and more in his offensive game, which is already in place, and he has been important in the development of our game going forward.

“He must now continue his development and become more stable so that he can get even more in tune with our style of play, but we are very happy with him already.

“He is a player who really want to play for us and has given up a lot of money to do so. It shows that he is very motivated to play for FC Copenhagen.”
