FCK learn Europa League opponents

Amartey scores stunner in FCK draw

Daniel Amartey’s superb strike lit up FC Copenhagen’s trip to Bruges on route to a well-earned UEFA Europa League draw in Belgium.

The 19-year-old unleashed a thunderous late volley from 25 yards to put FCK 1-0 up during a cagey affair, only for Víctor Vazquez to snatch a point for Bruges at the death.

Mikael Antonsson and Pierre Bengtsson had FCK’s best chances during a tight game, and the Lions have Stephan Andersen to thank for a string of saves, while Nicolas Castillo hit the crossbar for the home side.

The draw sees FCK remain third in Group B of the Europa League after Torino’s 2-0 home win over HJK.

The Lions will host Bruges back in Telia Parken on 6 November, but not before Superliga games with Hobro IK and SønderjyskE either side of a Danish Cup trip to Randers.
