Højer: A fantastic return to Parken
Oliver Højer made his first Parken appearance since December 2024 on Wednesday during F.C. Copenhagen's 2-1 Danish Cup win over Viborg – and the 19-year-old was delighted to get back out in front of the home fans.
Having returned from injury to play against Barcelona and FC Midtjylland this winter, Højer finally returned to FCK's home ground and helped the Lions to a semi-final first-leg victory, with goals from William Clem and Mohamed Elyounoussi.
"It was a fantastic feeling," Højer said afterwards.
"In all the months I've been injured, it's the Parken fans and atmosphere that I've missed the most. So it's just a great feeling to be back."
Højer provided Elyounoussi with the assist for his goal, and said: "It was nice to get an assist. I think I played a good ball in but the way Moi got on it like he did, he should get credit for that. It's a damn good header.
"I've received a lot more praise than I really feel I should, but I've been told many times that it was a good cross, so it must have been."
Reflecting on the game, he added: "3-1 would have been ideal, but we gave them too many chances in the second half. We should have closed them down better but the most important thing was to progress with a win."
Next up for FCK is Saturday's home tie against FC Nordsjælland, which kicks off at 5pm.
