Svensson reacts to late winner at Randers
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Bo Svensson says Sunday's stoppage-time win over Randers is proof that there's still plenty of work to be done as he gets used to life back with the Lions.
Svensson oversaw his second win on the bounce after returning to FCK as head coach this spring, overseeing a 2-1 at Randers to back up last weekend's 7-0 triumph over Silkeborg.
Viktor Claesson levelled the scores with seven minutes remaining, before William Clem popped up with the winner a minute into stoppage time.
“It’s always nice to win when you’ve been behind with ten minutes to go, but we didn’t deliver a good performance, and that shows that there’s still a long way to go,” said Svensson.
“I already said after the victory last Sunday that everything doesn’t turn around with a snap of the fingers, just because there’s a new man on the sidelines. I’m of course pleased that we were able to change the game today with the substitutions, because they were crucial to the victory.
“But we played far too slowly with too many touches, too many technical errors and not enough deep runs, and overall we performed poorly in many areas, although we must also remember to acknowledge that Randers played a good game.
“In addition to the three points, we can take away from the game that we showed good character by coming back at the end, but regardless of the result, we are still very critical of the level we want to perform at, and we were not there today."
