F.C. Copenhagen Women strengthen squad with New Zealand international

F.C. Copenhagen are delighted to announce the signing of New Zealand international defender Ally Green. The central defender joins F.C. Copenhagen Women from Canadian side Calgary Wild FC, having signed a one-and-a-half-year contract.

Green is an established international, with 18 senior caps for New Zealand, and brings experience from successful spells at AGF, Vålerenga and Sydney FC.

The 27-year-old defender adds both leadership and valuable experience to the squad, and the agreement is a key part of the squad's preparations for the upcoming spring season, where the Lionesses will compete for promotion to the A Liga.

Klarskov: 'Important for us to add players'
Head coach Kasper Klarskov said of Green's addition: “We are getting a player who is ready to contribute from day one. Ally has played at a high level and understands what it takes to perform in big matches.

"With the qualification games just around the corner, it's important for us to add players who can bring stability and strength. At the same time, Ally fits well into the way we want to play."

F.C. Copenhagen's head of women’s Football, Romaney Pinnock, highlighted the strategic importance of the signing, saying: “Ally embodies the mentality we want to build within the team.

"She brings international experience, professionalism and a strong winning mentality. She will raise standards both on and off the pitch, and this agreement reflects our ambition to take the next step as a club."

Green will train with her new FCK teammates for the first time on Monday 19 January.
