FCK beat Esbjerg in Danish Cup quarter-final first leg
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup praised his team for their attacking intent in Wednesday's 4-2 Danish Cup win over Esbjerg, which puts the Lions within 90 minutes of the semi-finals.
Two goals from Viktor Dadason and strikes by Mohamed Elyounoussi and Elias Achouri secured the quarter-final first-leg win at the Blue Water Arena, with the return leg in Parken scheduled for 13 December.
Reflecting on the game, Neestrup said: "We created many dangerous situations and many chances, and scored some great goals.
"I'm of course disappointed that we can't keep a three-goal advantage (for the second leg), but Esbjerg's second was well taken, you have to remember to acknowledge that too.
"All in all, it's a good starting point for a tie we obviously have to win, but also in a stadium where you can really feel that they've been hungry for games like this here, and I think we handled that well.
"Many of the players hit a high level, and we found some good spaces to play in, especially in the centre of the field around their defenders and just behind their sixes, where Moukoko, Elyounoussi and Mads Emil hurt them, and we set up a lot of good things.
"We are two goals ahead, and there is work to be done on 13 December when we will face a team that will definitely look to take their chance in Parken."
