Sune Holmgren becomes new U19s head coach
Morten Bisgaard will stop working for the U19s team this summer and Sune Holmgren will take over the head coach position. Juan Martinez Hayek will continue in the role of player development coach, which he took over when Martin Vingaard departed earlier in the spring.
"Sune knows the players, the playing style and our entire environment to perfection, and he has improved himself over many years in the Talent Department," says FCK sports director Sune Smith-Nielsen.
"We are confident that he, together with Juan Martinez and Morten Nordstrand and the others around the team, will develop some talented young players who are ready to step into the first team in the future."
Sune Holmgren has over 12 years of FCK experience and has held many different roles in the Talent Department, from U10s up to U17s head coach.
“I am extremely happy about this new opportunity that I have been offered,” says Sune Holmgren.
“It is a big job, and it is something that I am really looking forward to starting after the summer holidays.
“My clear focus right now, however, is on the remaining matches that we have left with the U17 team, and the goals we have set as a group."
Bisgaard: It has been a great pleasure
Morten Bisgaard will be leaving FCK Talent, where he has worked since January 2023, first as player development coach and then as head coach.
“It has been very educational to be among some of the most talented young players in Scandinavia,” says Morten.
"It has also been a pleasure to work with other talented coaches, and I will miss them.
"But now is the time to try something new, and I will also look forward to throwing myself into that. But we need to finish the season well, and I am looking forward to this last period with the team."
The U19 team is also working on hiring a new analyst from the new season, after Elliot Senniksen moved to the first team's scouting department.
