Watch: Maty Ryan's first interview with FCKTV

New F.C. Copenhagen goalkeeper Mathew Ryan says he's raring to go after joining the club on a two-year deal this week.

Ryan, 30, was announced as FCK's newest recruit on Tuesday and already has ambitions to help the club defend the Danish Superliga title and secure Champions League football.

In his first interview with FCKTV, the Australia international said: "FCK are a massive club in a league that's always growing. The opportunity to come here and help the club achieve their goals is what has brought me here.

"I'm very excited to be here and am looking forward to getting on the football pitch to help the club achieve their goals this season."

Asked about his footballing mentality, Ryan said: "I want to win games. I love playing football and love winning games. I absolutely hate losing. Football has given me some of the best memories I've had in my life.

"The bigger the challenge, the greater the triumph. Here at Copenhagen we have some goals we want to achieve this season, and I'm here to help the team. I'm really looking forward to it."

Ryan has played in Parken once before. He was Club Brugge's goalkeeper back in November 2014 when the Belgian side beat the Lions 4-0 in the Danish capital.

Discussing that night, he said: "That was my first and only visit here to Copenhagen for that night with Club Brugge.

"We walked away 4-0 winners that night – it was good for us, not so good for you guys! I'm hoping I can take some of that fortune that I had here and put it into use for Copenhagen. I'm keen to get in and start working."
